All of the people here have been truly welcoming; the opportunity to experience their community makes the state of Israel feel more tangible. People live here just as we do in the States, which can be hard to remember when touring amidst the sights. Perhaps, one day, I could be a part of this amazing nation. Israel isn't just a place - it's a people.
Here is a short "highlight" list of things we've done the past two days:
- Toured the Western Wall tunnels
- Explored the 4 quarters of the Old City
- Seen the Garden of Gethsemane
- Yeshua's Tomb in Golgotha? (who knows!)
- Delicious Arab restaurants
- The Israel Museum (gorgeous art and Judaic pieces)
- Shrine of the Book / Dead Sea Scrolls
- Walking the Ramparts
